I am a self taught artist, hoping to get the time to take some classes. I grew up loving the smell of crayons in a coffee tin. The joy of opening that big can full of colors and smelling that coffee smell was as good as it ever got. Still makes me happy just thinking about it! My favorite mediums are watercolor and acrylic. I love the fluid nature of watercolor and the versatility of acrylics. I am inspired by the colors and textures of nature and our neighborhoods, especially the city. And of course the cats that populate so many of my paintings. Mostly by God, who put the love of all things painterly in my heart.
I've been married to my best friend and soulmate for 27 years. We spent our earlier years living in different places:Ohio , where we met; Florida for a while (I can still hear the sounds of the ocean); in Illinois near the beautiful old city of St Louis; and now in central Pennsylvania. The Amish still drive horse and buggy here and you can buy anything from veggies to quilts from the back door or the back of a buggy.
Together we've managed to get our 2 children to the brink of adulthood without major mishap and collected a delightful son-in-law along the way. Of course, they are all three very smart, very sweet, funny as anything and pretty to look at.
